“The Late Show” host Stephen Colbert on Monday flagged the stunning hypocrisy of right-wing journalist Brian Glenn’s question to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the latter’s explosive Oval Office meeting with President Donald Trump last week.
Glenn, the boyfriend of far-right Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), went “all mom before church on Zelenskyy” when he asked Ukraine’s wartime leader why he wasn’t wearing a suit to meet Trump, said Colbert.
“Do you own a suit?” Glenn even asked at one point.
“No, it’s an important question,” claimed Colbert.
“In the Oval Office there is a strict dress code of decorum,” he continued. “You must either look like a businessman or a guy trying to hand you a flyer outside of a strip club.”
Colbert then showed a photo of billionaire Elon Musk — one of Trump’s top allies, who is leading the nonofficial Department of Government Efficiency — sporting a casual look during his wild Oval Office appearance last month.
