World No.1 is enjoying the most lucrative season of his career, and his winnings have funded a move away from the UK. The 35-year-old last month confirmed , making the switch with his figure skater girlfriend.
It’s a far cry from the star’s previous residence in Bristol, where he grew up. But with the growing influence of the Far East on the World Tour, ‘The Ace in the Pack’ can afford to base himself in the former British colony. He’ll be splitting his time between there and Dubai, where he is also a resident.
The 2019 world champion has explained that the changing ace of his sport . “I think we have now got the opportunity to pick a bit more where you can live,” he said.
“I think there’s so many tournaments in Asia and the Middle East, everywhere is kind of picking that up. So now, I’m able to base myself in Dubai and Hong Kong.”

Trump became a Hong Kong resident in January 2025 through the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme. That followed rival months beforehand, with Trump saying to have several reasons to buy a new house there.
He previously said he enjoys the country’s diverse lifestyle and, in particular, the food. The winner has also outlined his desire to promote snooker in the region and encourage youngsters to take up the sport.
It is perhaps no coincidence that the move comes around a year after it emerged Trump was dating Hong Kong skater Maisy Ma. The 25-year-old has competed in the free skate at three ISU Championships and is a two-time national champion.
Despite the move, the star doesn’t plan to miss much sporting action from back home. He’s already admitted he’s looking forward to visiting sports bars in order to watch live football on big screens.
