and s Izzie Balmer couldn’t contain her excitement when the show’s producer rang her up with an offer to join the team, and she accepted in a heartbeat.

The skilled auctioneer and valuer, who has a keen eye for jewellery and silver, recently became a consultant at Clevedon Salerooms. With impressive diplomas in gemmology and diamonds under her belt, Izzie is a true expert in her field.

But her journey into the world of antiques was not a planned one. Izzie candidly shared: “If I’m totally honest, I fell into the antiques industry.”

She elaborated on her unexpected career path, revealing that she found herself at a crossroads after graduating from Durham University with a geography degree. A temporary position in a vintage shop was meant to be a stopgap while she pondered her future direction.

Izzie continued: “Nine months later, and I was none the wiser. My mum suggested I do some work experience at a local auction house.”, reports .

That two-week stint turned into a full-time opportunity, and Izzie hasn’t looked back. Reflecting on what might have been had she not taken the plunge into antiques, she confessed: “I have absolutely no idea no doubt something very boring, wishing I was doing something as exciting as antiques.”

Despite her success, Izzie still entertains the thought of running her own cafe, serving top-notch locally sourced, seasonal fare.

She revealed that food is her guilty pleasure, with Italian and Asian cuisine being her favourites.

“I can’t resist a flat white coffee and pastry if I pass an independent bakery,” she admitted.

When not at work, she pursues her love for music, playing the viola in several Bristol orchestras and as part of a string quartet that entertains at weddings and events.

Her leisure time is spent enjoying outings with friends, dining out, discovering new places, and tending to her garden, where she grows her own flowers and vegetables.
