presenter Briony May Williams has shared an insight into her time presenting the hit countryside show.
Speaking to Express.co.uk, Briony opened up moving from going from a member of the public on TV to becoming a fully fledged presenter. She joined the show in 2020 after appearing in Bake Off in 2018, where she came fourth out of 12, and has been a hit with viewers.
Opening up about the show, Briony said: “I love presenting! It is so fun chatting to new people and travelling all over the country. I definitely prefer being the presenter, I feel much more comfortable and in control. I want to carry on doing this job as long as I can, I feel like I am still riding the Bake Off wave 6 years later and I take every opportunity that comes my way because I don’t know when it will stop!”
However, she also admitted that she struggles being away from her daughter Nora, 9, while she is travelling around the country for the show.

She said: “The hardest thing is being away from home a lot. I have a 9 year old daughter, Nora, and it is tough not being there to look after her. Luckily I have an amazingly supportive husband and my mum is incredible, we call her the third parent because we would be lost without her help.”
Briony recently decided to go sober after she was taken to hospital suffering from chest pains, which turned out to be a stomach ulcer caused by the acid in alcohol.
The star’s life has dramatically changed for the better, as she revealed she is sleeping better and has also lost weight from cutting out booze, as well as fizzy drinks and caffeine.
She revealed: “I have seen so many health benefits! I have lost 3 stone, I sleep better, and my mental health has improved. I honestly can’t think of a negative effect!”
