Unpredictable weather is putting us off staycations as one in three Brits booking a holiday say factor.
According to the new survey commissioned by HSBC UK, finding that warmer weather exceeds all other things on the wish list for many.

Located in the stunning area of Eastern Costa del Sol, since 2008, Torrox has proudly held the title of having the ‘best climate in Europe,’ a distinction touted by both the local government and the local media.

Shielded by the Penibetic mountain range and the Sierras de Tejeda and Almijara, this pretty white-washed town enjoys mild winters and glorious summers. With an average annual temperature of 18C and only about 54 rainy days a year, residents bask in sunshine almost 300 days annually.
Beautiful beaches, like Playa Ferrara and El Morche are also a draw but it is the weather that makes it so popular.
In fact 40% of the local population hails from abroad. The town offers a variety of accommodations, from holiday rentals to permanent homes, and its real estate market is ideal for those looking to invest in a Mediterranean lifestyle.
Torrox is well-connected by public transport, with regular bus routes to Málaga and Nerja. Additionally, Málaga airport is just an hour’s drive away, making it convenient for Brits to reach even for just a long weekend.
Stroll through its quaint streets to see the classic white houses and check out the local markets. If you’re into nature, the nearby Sierra de Almijara mountains are perfect for hiking with some fantastic views of the Mediterranean.

A spokesperson for the Costa Del Sol tourist board said: “If you want to boast about having been to the place with the best climate in Europe, you should pack your bags and find Torrox on the map.
“You’ll only need a few hours in this town in the Axarquia region at any time of year to get to know its opportune geographical layout and find out for yourself why it merits such a title.
“Torrox is a land of eternal spring and has become the jewel in the crown of the Costa del Sol by managing to always be warm.
“This fortunate climate is due to the Valley of the River Torrox, whose river limits temperature extremes as it opens up to the sea, whilst at the same time the surrounding mountains keep out strong winds.
“Torrox has a subtropical landscape where its mountains merge into its seven blue flag beaches.”
