husband once revealed one of the things that surprised him most about the Royal Family.
Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence married Anne in 1992 and has been a steady support for the Princess Royal, 74, ever since.
While Sir Timothy has spoken little about what goes on behind the scenes in his royal life, he did once reveal one thing that really surprised him when he first married into the family.
Speaking on the past ITV documentary Anne: The Princess Royal at 70, Sir Timothy said he was initially surprised at how much laughter there was in the Royal Family.
He said: “One of the great surprises for me, when I first went to Balmoral and to Sandringham and Windsor was that these places are full of laughter.”

He said on the documentary: “The similarities with Princess Anne’s father are much talked about, but what is less spoken about is the similarities with her mother, the Queen.
“The common theme is humour, fun”.
Sir Timothy is believed to have great relationships with members of the Royal Family including King Charles, Queen Camilla, and Princess Anne’s two children from her first marriage – Peter Philips and Zara Tindall.

He is also not the only one to comment on how much laughter and fun the family share with one another.

She said: “I remember so vividly the first Christmas at Sandringham, calling my mom, and she’s like ‘How’s it going?’ and I said ‘Oh my gosh it’s amazing’. It’s just like a big family like I always wanted. And there was just this constant movement and energy and fun.”
