This isn’t an obvious choice of place to visit but you could be missing out by not having this affordable destination on your list.

Varna in is a vibrant port city and seaside resort on the Black Sea Coast, it is a great lesser-known destination to explore.

In March, you can get return flights to for just £62 which makes it an affordable trip.

For those looking to relax, Primorski Park is a perfect spot, filled with sweeping sea views and 19th-century fountains along with an aquarium, zoo, and planetarium. 

History fans can head to the world’s oldest gold jewellery in the city’s Archaeological Museum or visit some of Europe’s best-preserved Roman Baths.

If you’re looking for more of a thrill, you can even go bungee jumping off the Asparuhov Bridge for incredible views. 

The city is a with an exciting array of coastal spots to choose from.

One popular choice is Asparuhovo Beach known for its fine sand and for being well maintained.

A visitor on Tripadvisor said: “Great and clean beach – is not crowded with tourists, the sea is clean and relatively shallow.”

Near to the is a park which you can explore before or after seeing the beach and there is also a neighbourhood to wander around.

“There are tons of clubs, bars, and cafes along the shoreline where you can grab a cocktail or a beer. If you want to get away from the craziness of the main beach, head to nearby Fichoza for a quieter time.”

One must-see place in the city is Primorski Park which is known for its relaxing atmosphere and vibrant green spaces. 

After walking around the park, you can take a seat at one of the cafes and restaurants for a bite to eat or a drink.

If you’re looking for a which offers an exciting break but feels less busy than the usual tourist-filled holiday, Varna could be the perfect place for you.
