and may have been close growing up, however this has changed drastically over the last few years.
Since Harry, 40, quit royal life in 2020 and moved across the pond to America, the brothers have become physically and emotionally more distant.
While it is believed they were still on talking terms when he first stepped down, this then drastically changed after Harry and Meghan decided to criticise the Royal Family publicly, beginning with a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, shortly followed by the Harry and Meghan Netflix docuseries in 2022.
The final straw for Prince William, 42, then came in 2023 when Harry released his memoir Spare, in which

Speaking in the documentary about Prince William, Grant Harrold – ex butler to King Charles when he was the Prince of Wales between 2004 and 2011 – revealed how close the brothers once were in a heartbreaking four-word remark as he said: “They were a team.”
Speaking on the documentary about the brother’s bond before Harry quit royal life with wife Meghan Markle, Grant said: “The two of them were practical jokers. They were a team.
“They used to wind each other up, and if you were involved in it, you’d get right into this winded up situation, this comedy, brotherly kind of fun.
“It was like that all the time. That’s why it’s so sad, how that’s completely changed. It’s extraordinary how much it could change.”

Despite experiencing a fractured relationship with William over the past few years, Harry has expressed a hope to get the once close bond he shared with his brother back.
Speaking before the release of his memoir Spare, Harry said in an interview: “My brother and I love each other. I love him deeply.
“There has been a lot of pain between the two of us, especially the last six years.”
When talking about family rifts, the prince also said in 2023 to : “I would like to get my father back, I would like to have my brother back.”
