’s hit spy adventure drama The Recruit could be “axed” by network bosses just one month after the release of his second season. The long-awaited instalment was finally released in January following its initial premiere in 2022 and received a near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score of 97 percent.
The series follows a newly hired CIA lawyer, Owen Hendricks (played by Noah Centineo), who gets caught up in the dangerous game of international politics. However, the show could be in jeopardy after competing for viewing figures against The Night Agent and comedy XO Kitty. Unlike the aforementioned, The Recruit has yet to be renewed for another season after the shows which debuted later than The Recruit have been confirmed for a third release.

According to , the drama had around two million less viewers in series two compared to its first eight episodes.
Despite this, Showrunner Alexi Hawley remains optimistic about The Recruit’s future, as he told : “We’re waiting for to officially do their thing with it.
“There’s a lot of goodwill inside towards the show and towards Noah; I think they very much feel like Noah is a homegrown star, which he is. So, I’m feeling super positive about it, as positive as you can feel in this town at this time.”
Alexi even shared plans for future filming locations and teased: “Maybe Latin America, Africa would be exciting. The American audiences don’t get exposed to Africa a lot in our storytelling for lots of reasons, but I think that would be really interesting.”

Fans are also eager for the show’s renewal as they were all left saying the same thing on social media following the release of season two.
