President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk cannot shake Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s spirit.

During an interview at the nation’s Capitol on Thursday, Crockett, a Democrat representing Texas, was asked, “Elon and Trump are trying to threaten and intimidate, are you intimidated?”

Crockett swiftly and confidently responded: “No.”

“I used to ask myself, ‘If I was a part of the Civil Rights Movement back in the day, what role would I play?’” said Crockett. “Never imagined that I would be able to play this type of role.”

She went on to speak about the hardships the Black community had to endure in order to make her position a reality.

“As only the 55th Black woman to be elected to Congress, knowing that people fought for what they could not see, I think that I owe it not only to the generations that came before me, but the generations that are coming behind me,” Crockett said.

Recounting how her ancestors fought relentlessly so that she could be able to participate in the freedoms we know today, Crockett acknowledged she would be remiss if she didn’t use her voice to speak out against ongoing injustices.

As the daughter of a preacher, Crockett also remarked that “God has not given me a spirit of fear.” No matter any smear campaigns, she said she remains resolute: “I know that what I am doing is right.”

“I know how I got here and I know that the generations coming behind me deserve it,” she said.

On Tuesday, Crockett also had a simple message for Musk. In an interview posted to X, formally Twitter, the congresswoman was asked if she had a message for Musk, to which she simply responded: “Fuck off.”
