ITV GMB’s Kate Garraway forced to interrupt show just minutes in after major blunder

Good Morning Britain’s Kate Garraway had to jump in and halt the show just moments into today’s live show due to an unexpected mishap.

During Friday’s (February 28) epsiode of the ITV hit breakfast show, Kate, 57, alongside her fellow presenter Adil Ray, 50, returned to deliver the morning news headlines.

Yet viewers were in for a surprise as the familiar theme tune was notably absent, with their screens falling eerily silent just before the presenters came into view.

Swift to address the hiccup, Kate remarked: “Good Morning. We are a bit like a silent movie this morning due to technical issues with our music, but I’m sure we will get it sorted out.”

Though not mentioned afterwards, the problem seemed to have been quickly ironed out as the usual jingle returned over the airwaves during the broadcast, reports .

It comes as GMB sparked chaos among viewers when an unanticipated pregnancy announcement took the spotlight. On the Thursday (February 27) edition, showbiz correspondent Richard Arnold graced the screen with his segment featuring a special visitor.

Joined by Peppa Pig’s Mummy Pig in a first-time live interview, the beloved character took the chance to announce she was expecting, stirring a buzz among the audience.

Kicking off the interview, Richard exclaimed: “My next guest is the matriarch of an entertainment dynasty that began with a TV show and moved into books, films and theme parks. They’ve been a favourite of kids and parents alike for the last 21 years and now, I’d like to welcome in her first-ever interview someone we’re all excited to meet.”

Suddenly, Mummy Pig appeared on screen and enthused: “So I’m very excited to tell you all that I…” only to be interrupted by Peppa who was thrilled to see her mum on television before Mummy Pig could share her pregnancy news.

As this unfolded, viewers at home were quick to take to social media to express their disbelief and amusement. One viewer tweeted: “Did I really just see Mummy Pig get interviewed about her pregnancy on #GMB, or have I really lost it?”

Others were left scratching their heads, with one asking: “Am I tripping? Why are they interviewing Peppa Pig?”, while another declared: “This segment is bonkers.” Meanwhile, someone else proclaimed: “Mummy pig is pregnant. Breaking News. On #GMB welcome the new porker.”

Good Morning Britian airs weekdays from 6am on ITV and ITVX
