Award-winning professionals ready to transform your outdoor space
For 2024, a record-breaking 12 companies received awards for their exceptional projects and were celebrated at the inaugural BC LAE reception, held on Jan. 28, 2025. Not only have they completed phenomenal projects, but these companies adhere to a set of professional standards, ensuring clients receive high-quality service and ethical practices as leaders in their industry.
This year also marked the introduction of the Green Stamp, a new award recognizing projects that emphasize environmental sustainability through various ways such as the general design or the choice in materials.
The 2024 recipients are:
Showcasing exceptional prowess in both installation and maintenance, Swick’s Landscaping focuses on the vibrancy and health of outdoor spaces, while preserving the integrity of the environment. Swick’s earned an award for the maintenance of Shaughnessy Shade Garden and another for the stunning landscape installation of Shaughnessy Estate, an elegant outdoor retreat that granted them the title of Best Overall.
Specializing in complex residential projects, Shangri-La Landscaping excelled with its renovation of Cypress Falls, earning accolades in the Single Family Residential Landscape Installation category.
No stranger to the BC LAE, Hyland Landscapes champions spaces that thrive. Its Garden Bay Glamping project earned a Landscape Design Award, as well as a Green Stamp for the design’s emphasis on environmental best practices.
While it has constructed some of Vancouver’s most spectacular and challenging outdoor spaces, this time, Fossil Landscape Construction impressed with Hammersmith. The four-acre equestrian/residential maintenance project features diverse vegetation, from topiaries to tropical plants. This project also earned a Green Stamp for its environmentally conscious practices that consider the animals on site and the final product.
In the Okanagan Valley, Cohesion Land Design’s Highpointe Place project earned a Single Family Residential Design award for seamlessly integrating natural landscapes with the breathtaking vistas of Kelowna.
With more than 40 years of experience, Bedrock Natural Stone’s clean and modern stonework on Hodge Residence, a West Vancouver waterfront oasis, earned the company a Single Family Residential Installation award.
Craine Projects transformed Quesnel Corner from a cluttered, inaccessible space into a stunning, welcoming environment, earning a Single Family Residential Installation award.
Vandenberg Landscapes earned a Single Family Residential Installation award for Rosedale Retreat, a serene space that balances expansive views with cozy areas and natural elements on a rural landscape.
Azure Landscape’s philosophy of treating each garden as a living canvas came to life in Serenity, a Single Family Residential Design project that balances esthetics, functionality and spatial fluidity.
The Black House received a Single Family Residential Design award for Acre Horticulture’s keen attention to detail and emphasis on esthetic beauty throughout the entire year.
Kennedy Landscaping maintains commercial and strata landscapes across the Lower Mainland and has demonstrated its prowess with a Maintenance award for Tsawwassen Springs Apartments.
Another highly awarded company, Blue Bear Landscape Construction completed a phenomenal landscape installation of Valencia, which focused on working the hardscape into the property’s natural features.
