Meghan Markle’s bizarre ‘woke’ nickname given to her by Palace staff revealed

allegedly had several nicknames given to her by Palace staff during her short tenure as a working royal, and one was inspired by her being “so woke”, according to a new royal book.

The Duchess of Sussex became a working royal in 2018 after her marriage to She stayed within the Firm until 2020, when they both quit their duties and moved to America.

A new royal book, titled Yes Ma’am: The Secret Life of Royal Servants by Tom Quinn, cites royal staff members who talk about Meghan’s time as a working royal.

One of them alleged that the duchess was dubbed “Mystic Meg” because she was so “new agey and woke”.

They said in the book: “It’s true that , but she had other, friendlier nicknames, including Mystic Meg, which came about because she was so new agey, so woke, about so many things.”

Elsewhere, the staffer said that Meghan, who was also dubbed “Duchess Difficult” found it hard to come to terms with her new royal life.

They alleged: “She could be difficult because she was finding life difficult- trying to feel her way and work out the intricacies of a positively medieval, labyrinthine system.”

According to the author, another problem with the duchess when she was still a working royal was “the servants”.

Mr Quinn said: “Meghan both loved having everything done for her by the domestic staff and also hated it.”

A royal staffer alleged: “Ahrough absolutely no fault of her own, Meghan wasn’t always great with her staff — she just wasn’t used to it as Harry was.

“So, one minute she would be really friendly, perhaps overfriendly, hugging staff and trying to make friends with them, and the next she would be irritated by the fact they wouldn’t respond instantly at all times of the day and night.”
