Emmerdale viewers are growing increasingly concerned for Aaron Dingle as his partner, John Sugden, continues to exhibit alarming behaviour following the murder of Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day) in January. In Wednesday’s episode (February 26) of the iTV soap, a suspicious Aaron (Danny Miller) took a stroll with his mother Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), and the conversation quickly turned to the location of Anthony’s body.
Chas was taken aback when she discovered that Aaron was unaware of its whereabouts and suggested they inform the police. Upon returning home, Aaron immediately questioned his boyfriend John (Oliver Farnworth) about where he had buried Anthony’s body.
John attempted to evade Aaron’s queries by implying it would be better for him not to know where the body was concealed.
Later, Aaron proposed they go to the police regarding Anthony’s death, but John became increasingly irritated at the idea of interference in his affairs.
“I thought you loved me” John said to Aaron, before adding: “I put my life on the line to save you, just you remember that.”

In an effort to regain Aaron’s trust, John arranged a clandestine meeting with everyone involved in the cover-up of Anthony’s death, including Aaron, Chas, Caleb (William Ash), Cain (Jeff Hordley), and Ruby (Beth Cordingly), emphasising that if one person strays from the plan, everything will fall apart, reports .
John disclosed the location of Anthony’s makeshift grave in the woods to regain their trust, leaving Ruby distraught. Following a visit to the burial site with Aaron, the two had a candid conversation about recent events, with Aaron expressing remorse for doubting his partner.
John shared his experience of dealing with death during his army service, leading Aaron to apologise once more, to which John responded simply: “Okay.”

Aaron voiced his concern: “I don’t want you thinking bad of mum”, and John reassured him: “Well, I think we have established the ground rules; it’s good you have someone fighting your corner. I just think I’m going to have to work a bit harder to win her over.”
viewers are worried about John’s manipulative behaviour towards Aaron, suspecting him to be a serial killer whose victims include Anthony and Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter), believed to be dead in the lake, with Aaron potentially next on his list.
One viewer took to X, writing: “If Aaron said ‘no John, I don’t love you”. Would that crack John’s calm control façade? (Remember Meena) Would that draw out John’s psycho?”

Another added: “Deffo making John a serial killer way he is acting. Still not sure the point in it. Nobody wants another Aaron breakdown.”
A third chimed in: “If John is a killer this gives us a whole new Aaron storyline I can’t I’m so excited #.”
Another viewer suspected: “I reckon John killed Nate and possibly Anthony. What can’t Aaron ever be happy?”# is it me or is John gaslighting Aaron? He seems to be rather controlling and playing the “do you love me” card when he feels threatened.”
