GMB viewers ‘switch off’ as they issue complaint over interview (Image: ITV)
Good Morning Britain fans were up in arms on Thursday (February 27), threatening to “switch off” as they vented their frustration over a “bonkers” segment. In the latest instalment of the ITV morning show, presenters Kate Garraway and Richard Madeley delivered the day’s top stories.
Entertainment guru Richard Arnold took the reins for his segment, teasing viewers with an exclusive interview with a “special guest” who had some big news to break. The surprise guest was none other than Mummy Pig from Peppatown, who joined live to reveal her pregnancy news, with Peppa Pig herself making a brief appearance.
“I’d like to welcome in her first ever interview someone we’re all very excited to meet. It’s Mummy Pig!” Richard announced. “Gosh, hello, thank you for having me. I’ve never been on telly before,” responded Mummy Pig.
“We’ve been abuzz in the studio all morning because we hear you have an exciting announcement,” Richard said, prompting Mummy Pig to divulge: “That’s right, I do! So, I’m very excited to tell you all that I…” However, before she could finish, Peppa interrupted, too thrilled to see her mum on screen. After Peppa’s quick exit, Mummy Pig joyfully declared: “Well, I’m excited to share that our family is getting even bigger because we’re having another baby! I’m due in the summer and we’re all so excited.”
Despite her excitement, Mummy Pig admitted feeling “thrilled” yet “a little overwhelmed” by the prospect of juggling three kids under five.

“We weren’t able to keep it a secret for long. Peppa knew something was going on, she’s such a curious thing. We had to tell her before she popped. We’ve had the occasional wobble and worry, but they’re mostly so excited. Everyday they ask me how big the baby is, when is it coming, does it like dinosaurs or muddy puddles – it never stops!” she added.
Wrapping up the chat, Richard concluded: “Aw congratulations once again from all of us at Good Morning Britain, we’re so excited to meet the new little baby pig and see how Peppa and George get along.”

However, fans expressed their displeasure with the pre-scripted interview, with many flocking to X (formerly Twitter) to vent their bewilderment and irritation.
“Turning off… this programme is becoming a joke,” scoffed one viewer, while another lamented: “Wtf is the point of this cringeworthy Peppa pig interview?” Echoing the widespread perplexity, another fan queried, “Am I tripping? Why are they interviewing Peppa Pig?” Meanwhile, a fourth person remarked: “This segment is bonkers.”
Another baffled spectator shared, “Did I really just see Mummy Pig get interviewed about her pregnancy on #GMB or have I really lost it?”
