Northumberland is a county renowned for its stunning landscapes, award-winning beaches and its own national park — but there’s also a medieval pub that has garnered national attention. And, despite being nestled in Northumberland, this unique gem boasts a Durham postcode.

The beauty of Northumberland has been well-documented, particularly in the hit ITV drama Vera, where it served as the backdrop for numerous episodes over the show’s 14-year run, including the highly-anticipated finale in January. Situated by the water in a wooded section of the Derwent valley, straddles the boundary with County Durham, making it an ideal location for visitors to either region.

Despite its rich character, the village is tiny in population, with a 2011 census revealing only 135 residents.
