While the days are starting to get longer, many motorists are still , particularly because they fear being startled by .
To help drivers feel more at home on , the automotive retailer urged motorists to consider a pair of anti-reflective coated glasses.
They explained: “Anti-reflective coated glasses are most effective for night driving, as the coating on the lenses minimises any glare and reflections, which can enhance contrast and overall visibility in dark conditions. You can purchase these glasses from many retailers.
“As well as this, many drivers may struggle with astigmatism when driving at night, as this can cause blurred vision, halos around lights, and reduced contrast sensitivity.”

Specialist driving glasses, available for around £10, feature a thin layer of film that can help reduce glare from oncoming vehicles’ headlights.
Unlike sunglasses, which are too heavily tinted to use safely at night, these glasses feature a yellow tint, helping them to block out the blue light typically generated by headlamps.
Nevertheless, drivers who plan to wear anti-reflective glasses at night are urged to exercise caution, as they can make unlit parts of the road even darker, leading to a higher risk of accidents.

Similarly, Dick Lovett suggested that drivers make sure to have their rear-view mirror set correctly, which can be done by flicking the switch underneath the frame.
They added: “We also recommend switching your rear-view mirrors into night mode, a feature that has been in cars since as early as the 1980s.
“This feature makes your mirror darker and minimises the intensity of any reflections during the night to avoid glare from vehicles behind you.”
Finally, the company suggested that all drivers regularly clean their vehicle’s windows, which can also help to reduce dazzle from oncoming traffic.
Whilst few drivers feel inclined to spend time with buckets of soapy water during cold winter weather, doing so can remove dirt and grease that can prevent oncoming lights from blocking the view.
Drivers should also keep the headlights of their vehicles clean, with dirty lenses resulting in scattered beams of light and generally worsened visibility.
