A couple who left their £157,000 BMW at the airport returned from holiday to a nasty surprise.
The mother and father had enjoyed a trip to the Czech republic and used the airport’s ‘meet and greet’ parking service to park their brand new car.
However, when they returned they found the 24-plate BMW XM had been crashed into a hedge and left.
They claim that the car was wrecked by the valet parking firm when called for pickup, without an apology or disclosure of its whereabouts offered by the company.
Speaking to the their daughter said: “When they landed, they called to say they were ready for their car. But 45 minutes later there was no car and they called again. They said another car had gone into their car and to get a taxi home. They wouldn’t give the location. They called the police and the police told them the location.”
The couple, from Stoke-on-Trent and wished to remain anonymous, took a cab and found their beloved vehicle on Mill Lane at the junction with Castle Mill Lane in Cheshire’s Ashley Village, close to the airport.

Their daughter continued: “They were really upset. They really loved that car. When their grandchildren went into it, they had to take their shoes off. The company just didn’t care and they didn’t even say sorry or that they would drive them home. They only found out where it was from the police.”
Her father added: “That car means everything to me.”
When approached for comment, Secure Parking Manchester told MEN: “I will pass it onto the office. They deal with the complaints’ side and they will give you a call back mate.”
No follow-up call was made. Efforts to contact the firm via email similarly went unanswered.
Cheshire Police confirmed receipt of a report from GMP about a BMW crashing into a hedge on Mill Lane at 1.53pm on Saturday February 22. “There were no reports of any injuries, and the vehicle was recovered from the scene,” stated the spokesperson.
A GMP spokesman reported that officers attended a car in a ditch incident, with the driver passing a breath test and no arrests ensuing.
Neither police force has indicated the involvement of a second vehicle in the crash.
