Alina Habba’s Attempt To Defend Donald Trump Comes With A Cringeworthy Twist

White House counselor Alina Habba’s explanation of how Donald Trump’s administration is running the government prompted awkward reminders from critics on social media.

Habba on Tuesday defended the widespread cuts that are being made to government spending (via the Elon Musk-led Department of Government Effiency) as she told Fox News’ Harris Faulkner that, “We’re running this country […] like President Trump runs the Trump Organization.”

“Like Elon Musk’s running X,” she added. “That’s what we’re doing.”

Commenters, though, recalled Trump’s lengthy history of bankruptcies and legal challenges.

They also noted how the valuation of X, formerly Twitter, has reportedly plummeted by nearly 80% since top Trump ally Musk’s $44 billion takeover in 2022.

History lesson for America.

Trump filed for Bankruptcy 7 times.

Governments should not be run like corporations. Governing, legislating, Congressional budgets and appropriations are completely different than for profit corporations.

every single trump company in “the art of the deal” went bankrupt after.

Running it like the Trump Organization? Multiple bankruptcies, lawsuits, and chaos? Like X under Musk—plummeting value and constant dysfunction? Hard pass.

Trump had to file for bankruptcy multiple times after failing miserably in his business. That’s not the best way to run a business and certainly not a country.
