Rob Burrow’s wife details last moments with husband in heartbreaking admission

Rob Burrow’s wife, Lindsey Burrow, has detailed the last moments she shared with her husband in a heartbreaking admission.

The former Leeds Rhinos player died at the age of 41 in June 2024, four and a half years after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND) – a progressive neurological disease that causes muscles to weaken and waste away.

Lindsey appeared on Breakfast on Wednesday (February 26), where she spoke to hosts and Jon Kay about her new memoir, which explores Rob’s heroic battle with MND and the impact his illness had on their young family.

“It’s been a huge rollercoaster of a ride writing the book. I started writing the book in February [last year] when Rob was still here, and sadly, we lost Rob in June,” Lindsey shared.

“In many ways its helped me through the grief writing the book, there’s lots of childhood memories in there, lots of [stuff] from our wedding, up to the last day of Rob’s final few hours.”

“It’s been a tough few months, but we’re getting there. We have good and bad days, but I think Rob wanted us to be happy. I made that promise to Rob that we’ll continue his legacy and continue to be as happy as we can,” she added.
