American couple visit ‘UK’s friendliest city’ – three things left them stunned

An American couple known for their travel vlogs recently revisited , a city often praised as one of the friendliest in the UK.

The duo, behind , had previously explored famous landmarks like The Beatles Story Museum and Liverpool Cathedral. However, their curiosity drew them back for a deeper dive into the city’s culture and charm.

Returning to Liverpool, the couple were once again struck by the warmth of its people. Cara, sharing their experiences with her 71,000 YouTube subscribers, noted the warm feeling of the city.

“Liverpool won yesterday, so apparently, everyone is in an extra good mood,” she said. “But I do have to say, I feel like the people here in Liverpool are so proud of their city, and everyone is so friendly—it makes for a more enjoyable experience.”

Their visit to Wilkinson Cameras was another memorable moment, as staff recognized them and enthusiastically recommended a trip to Liverpool Central Library.

Even their Uber driver became an unexpected tour guide, excitedly pointing out famous filming locations, including spots from Fast & Furious and The Batman starring Robert Pattinson.

Liverpool’s reputation for didn’t deter the couple. Cara was pleasantly surprised by the mild conditions during their visit to the waterfront. “For a winter’s day, I am surprised by how pleasant and lovely it is here on the water,” she noted. “I was expecting crazy winds and all kinds of weather mishaps, but no—it’s so nice.”

On Bold Street, famous for its independent shops and the historic , the pair explored Liverpool’s vibrant social scene. Following recommendations, they indulged in Mowgli’s renowned Indian cuisine. “Probably the fanciest Indian food we’ve had in the UK,” Cara admitted, calling it a “fantastic experience” worth splurging on again.

She also fell in love with the atmosphere of Bold Street. “It definitely feels like a place locals hang out and roam about,” she said. “I feel like we didn’t experience this as much last time we were here.”

The couple also visited Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral, complementing their previous visit to Liverpool Cathedral, the largest in Britain. Jeremy, awed by its unique architecture, commented: “It is very pretty and unlike any other church or cathedral I’ve been to.”

Cara was particularly struck by the giant stained glass windows, noting: “It is absolutely stunning. I can see why people visit this one despite Liverpool Cathedral being nearby—it’s unique in its own way and honestly gorgeous.”

Their vlog resonated with viewers, many of whom shared their own love for Liverpool. One commenter remarked: “Some cities have a positive mojo, and Liverpool is one of them. Everyone I met was cheerful and hilarious.” Another added: “I spent 15 years in Liverpool and plan to move back when I retire.”
