David Tennant shares one film he’s never watched – and cinema fans will be disgusted

has confessed he has never seen the beloved movie Back To The Future. Despite the fact the film celebrates its 40th anniversary later this year it has remained off David’s radar throughout the decades.

The star made the revelation to Parks and Recreation star Ben Schwartz on the first episode of the new series of which returned withnew episodes today (February 25).

Ben is a huge fan of the time travel flick, which stars Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, and was astonished by David’s revelation after he asked if he had seen it.

“You’ve seen Back to the Future, right?” Ben enquired. “I’ve never seen Back to the Future,” David responded leading Ben to exclaim: “I can’t even listen to you right now.”

Pleading his case host David chimed in: “It’s so difficult with Back to the Future.”

However Ben was having none of it. “No, what do you mean so difficult? What are you talking about? It’s so difficult to enjoy yourself? To watch the best movie of all time?” he pressed.

“No, I’m aware that it’s like everyone’s favourite film and it’s the best film. Now I feel like I’ve gone too far,” David said.

“Everybody in [the studio] has seen Back to the Future, right? Every single person,” Ben continued.

“So literally every single person in the world has seen I mean, it is my favourite movie of all time. It is the movie that made me realise that ‘Oh my god, movies are amazing’,” he said.

David’s revelation is all the more astonishing given that the movie is a family favourite and he and wife Georgia have five children.

Originally released in December 1985 the film starred Michael J Fox as Marty McFly who time travels back to 1955 in a DeLoren which has been adapted by his friend Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd).

While there he must try and ensure his parents fall in love before he and his siblings cease to exist. it was a huge hit on release and spawned two sequels. More recently it was adapted into a stage musical.
