Eye-watering amount King Charles’s Land Rover is set to sell for at auction

Royal fans are in for a treat as ‘s Land Rover Defender 90 is set to fetch up to a whopping $50,000 when it goes under the hammer next month.

The back in 2010 when he and Queen Camilla were Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall.

It was in Gloucestershire, Highgrove House, and parked at the Royal Garage on November 15, 2010, accompanied by a confirmation letter addressed to Tim Williams, Charles’s head chauffeur.

Iconic Auctioneers said the car was supplied “for the sole use of King Charles III, then The Prince of Wales, and HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, our current King and Queen.”

The Defender 90 is finished in Keswick Green with a charcoal grey interior, and it only has 24,595 miles on the clock.

Its sales listing said that the interior “interestingly only shows minor wear to the driver’s seat, indicating that this was not a chauffeur-driven Defender”.

The auction is set to go live on March 22 at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre and experts expect it to fetch between £42,000-£50,000.

The car – originally supplied by JLR Special Vehicles – is said to form part of “a small but dedicated Royal Collection, dutifully cared for by its fastidious owner”.

Iconic Auctioneers added: “By their nature, a Defender rarely has any form of creature comforts but, as one might expect, this superb example does have the luxury of heated seats and heated front and rear screens.”

The lucky new owner will also receive the original book pack and service book that details the first service completed by M.J. Fews, Land Rover, Wooton-under-Edge, Highgrove’s local Land Rover Specialist.

However, the vehicle’s prestigious registration number showing “72 HRH” will not be part of the sale as it is to be retained by its present keeper.
