“Boy Meets World” actors Danielle Fishel and Maitland Ward’s on-air reunion took a startling turn this week with the former co-stars hurling accusations at each other regarding their respective behind-the-scenes actions.
Ward was interviewed for Monday’s episode of “Pod Meets World,” the “Boy Meets World” rewatch podcast co-hosted by Fishel, with fellow actors Will Friedle and Rider Strong. The seemingly jovial chat, however, became a heated back-and-forth when Fishel asked Ward point blank: “Do you hate us?”
“No, I do not hate you. I think that you hate me, because you wouldn’t speak to me on ‘Girl Meets World,’ and that was hurtful,” Ward replied, referring to the “Boy Meets World” spinoff series which aired from 2014 to 2017.
When Fishel asked for clarification, Ward accused her of unfriending her on Facebook. Though Fishel responded by noting she wasn’t active on Facebook, she took a swipe at Ward, claiming her co-star has spoken ill of the “Boy Meets World” cast in TMZ interviews when the podcast had been in the news.
“Are you trying to accuse me of using you, or are you trying to accuse me of something?” Ward said, before implying that Fishel, Friedle and Strong “hate” former “Boy Meets World” co-star Ben Savage and series creator Michael Jacobs.
Though the podcast hosts have publicly acknowledged their strained relationship with Savage, Fishel insisted: “We absolutely do not hate either of them.”

The tension continued to escalate for the remainder of the interview, with Ward saying she felt as though she were being subjected to a “grilling” session.
“Let’s be honest about this,” she said. “You’re trying to go at me now to get the ratings because you know that people will be interested. I just wanted to remember the good times.”
“Now you only want to talk about the good times, but when TMZ runs into you randomly on the street, that’s the time when you want to drag our names through the mud,” Fishel shot back.
“Boy Meets World,” which aired from 1993 to 2000, chronicled the life of Cory Matthews (played by Savage) as he transitioned from his pre-teen years through college. Over the course of the series, Cory develops romantic feelings for Fishel’s character, Topanga. Ward’s character, Rachel, popped up during Cory’s college years as Topanga’s roommate.
Though Ward went on to appear in the 2004 film “White Chicks,” she stopped pursuing mainstream acting work after appearing on the CBS series “Rules of Engagement.” Since 2019, she’s worked primarily in adult films. Her 2022 memoir, “My Escape from Hollywood: Unapologetic, Unfiltered and Unashamed,” delves further into her decision to pursue a porn career.
Speaking to E! News in October, Ward said members of the “Boy Meets World” production team tried to instill a rivalry between her and Fishel.

“A lot of people said Danielle would hate me because I was the girl coming in,” she explained. “But she didn’t. She was very nice to me when I came in. It’s weird that people would like, set that up.”
