Amazon drops single malt Scotch whisky to £27 ahead of National Whisky Day

With a month to go until National Whisky Day, Amazon is offering early discounts on a single malt Scotch whisky with an alluring 41% discount. The award-winning is now reduced from £46 to £27 for a limited time.

Distilled in the historic Dufftown distillery of Speyside, which has been considered a beacon of fine Single Malt production since 1896, the tipple from Dufftown Distillery is aged in Pedro Ximenez Oloroso-seasoned (sherry) casks and refilled in ex-bourbon casks to deliver distinctive honey notes and nutty intensity.

The whisky is designed to envelop your palate with soft-cooked apples, luscious brown sugar, creamy espresso coffee and roasted nutty notes. No wonder it was at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition and International Spirits Challenge in 2022.

The Singleton of Dufftown is distilled in the Dufftown distillery in Speyside, the heart of malt whisky production in Scotland. The Singleton of Dufftown has an aroma of toasted nuts with rich fruits, with hints of blackcurrant, brown sugar and coffee on the palate – before an elegantly drying and crisp finish.

Serious whisky lovers might want to enjoy the Singleton 12 Years Old neat or on the rocks, and cocktail lovers can mix it with other spirits to make a Negroni, Highball or even Old Fashioned. The company recommend the Singleton Sour, a four-ingredient cocktail that requires the 12-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (60ml), honey syrup or honey (20ml), lemon juice (20ml) and egg white (15ml).

Dry shake all ingredients, add ice to the tin and shake again. Next, strain into a glass and garnish with a maraschino cherry.

One fan said it’s his go-to drink when it comes to a regular malt drink. He added: “It’s I recommend this to those who are not familiar with Scottish single malt.”

Another shopper gave a high praise of the drink and shared: “I usually drink Glenfiddich, but tasted this in a party and decided to buy it for a change as it was on offer. It is a great smooth whisky and I would place this in the same league as Glenfiddich.”

However, one customer left a remark: “Tastes fine but lacks any particular outstanding personality. Branded and aged is the only thing that intrigued me. It is enjoyable but not memorable.”

A second added: “Delightful single malt, non-peaty, fruity and smooth. Not sure I’d pay £44 but at offer price it’s worth the money.”
