Man Utd goes ‘Oliver Twist’ as Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s latest extreme cost cuts surface

It’s claimed that the training ground canteen now only serves soup and sandwiches for all employees except first-team players.

Supporters have been left in disbelief at the report on social media. One account, @JustJosh132, reacted: “These motherf***ers are living in the days of Oliver Twist.”

@thfcalbon wrote: “Everytime I think I’ve seen the lowest of they somehow stoop even lower.”

@BobKeyez posted: “Kin hell – I’ve been defending Ineos but soup and bread? Ease up Jim ffs.”

@sherbet_01 shared: “It makes me so sad seeing how the staff are being treated. Do management not realise that it is the staff that makes the club?”

United are rotting in 15th in the Premier League, failing to win 11 of their 15 such matches since became head coach in November.

Back-to-back worst-ever Premier League campaigns now look a certainty after slumping to a record-low eight-place finish under last term.

The Red Devils are still in the hunt for silverware, though. Fulham visit Old Trafford in the FA Cup fifth round on Sunday before a Europa League last-16 tie against Real Sociedad.
