Longtime political consultant James Carville predicted that the bottom’s about to fall out for President Donald Trump and his MAGA agenda when it comes to support from the voting public.
And he warned the president it will happen within a month.
“I believe that this administration, in less than 30 days is in the midst of a massive collapse, and particularly a collapse in public opinion,” Carville told Mediaite’s Dan Abrams.
He said the signs are already there, and pointed to a poll that found support among voters under the age of 30 plunged from 50 percent to 39 percent within two weeks.
“It’s collapsing right now,” he said. “We’re in the midst of a collapse.”
Last week, multiple polls showed him underwater in public approval. With inflation on the rise, polls have also found voters no longer approve of his handling of the economy, which was once his biggest strength.
“This is the lowest approval, not even close, that any president has ever had at a comparable time,” Carville said.
He urged Democrats to lay low and “play possum” as Trump’s approval ratings continue to crater, echoing comments he made on MSNBC last week.
He also predicted that House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) won’t be able to pass a budget with just the Republicans in his conference and will need to turn to House Democrats and Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY).

“I think the House Democrats ― and this is gonna shock a lot of people ― I think they know exactly what they’re doing and they know what’s gonna happen,” he said. “And Mike Johnson’s gonna have no other choice. He’s gonna have to go, and when he does, that’s surrender.”
