Who had France rugby star Antoine Dupont down as a fan?

The teenage darts sensation burst onto the scene as a 16-year-old just over a year ago when he reached the final of the World Championship final.

Littler finished as runner-up to Luke Humphries that time around, but he bounced back a year later to take the title, beating in this year’s final.

He became the youngest winner in the history of the sport and has been credited with putting darts back on the map.

So much so, his reach has also stretched across sports, with Dupont – who is widely considered as the best rugby player on the planet – taking notice of Littler’s exploits.

Dupont was quizzed, alongside some other Six Nations stars, by Radio 5 Live on the eternal debate about what’s the most difficult: a nine-darter, 147 break or hole-in-one.

The Frenchman was first to respond, saying: “Darts I think. Yeah. It’s really impressive when you see the last World Championship… the English guy. Awesome!”

While he didn’t mention Littler by name, there are few more well-known English darts stars than the reigning world champion.

Littler came close to nailing a nine-darter at the 2025 Worlds in his opening game, but just missed double 12 by a matter of millimetres.

The Warrington-based star has previously hit several nine-darters, including one in the final of the Premier League against Humphries last year.

It’s a question that often returns a variety of answers, with the opinions of the Six Nations skippers no different.

Wales ace Jac Morgan said: “I’d say 147. I would.”

But Caelan Doris, the Ireland skip initially said: “I think hole-in-one. Yeah I reckon so.”

He quickly changed his mind though, adding: “Maybe snooker actually. Snooker is tricky too. A few lifetimes for me [for how long it would take him].”

Whereas Michele Lamaro of the Italian side, said: “I understood how much difficult to do a hole-in-one. So I think I would rather go with a hole-in-hole.”

It was Scotland’s Rory Darge who perhaps gave the most extensive – and perhaps logical answer – claiming: “147. I mean the nine-darter is nine darts. 147… how many shots do you need for a 147?”

And finally, stumped by the conundrum, Maro Itoje added: “I’m going to go a hole-in-one. But that being said, with a hole-in-one you just need luck once. So I’m going to change my answer.”

Before settling on: “I’m going to go with the darts.”
