BBC One’s Call the Midwife is set to return, with Joyce Highland (portrayed by Renee Bailey) at the heart of the drama. Following a complaint from Bernie Midgely, she faces potential disciplinary action and, despite Sister Julienne’s (Jenny Agutter) backing, fears losing everything.
In other storylines, some midwives assist a family grappling with drug addiction, while Dr Turner (Stephen McGann) and Shelagh (Laura Main) finalise May’s (April Rae Hoang) adoption process. Trixie Aylward (Helen George), on the other hand, is hell-bent on securing a ticket to the Royal premiere of the locally-shot film Bronco Bullfrog.
Familiar faces will be back, including new couple Cyril Robinson (Zephryn Taitte) and Rosalind Clifford (Natalie Quarry).
