‘Hardest’ TV quizzes to win – and Mastermind isn’t no. 1

Could you win the Mastermind trophy? Well, you might be in with a better chance than cinching the big bucks for another popular quiz.

According to research carried out in conjunction with launch, one in five telly fans think they’d be able to beat their fellow contestants at ITV’s , hosted by .

That ranked as the easiest TV quiz to win, with 21% of viewers voting it as the simplest.

Coming in second easiest was rival show , in which a team of four attempt to go up against some of the toughest brains in quizzing – from to  

10% of people surveyed thought they could win a game of The Chase – though it also ranked as the UK’s favourite gameshow, with 22% voting for it.

Surprisingly, ’s came in third easiest, with 7% of viewers voting it as the easiest to win. In the final round, a team of two gets three chances at scoring a pointless answer – one that nobody else guessed.

Ant and Dec’s Limitless Win and The Weakest Link also ranked at 7%, while The 1% Club came in with 6% of people thinking they could win.

Mastermind followed, with 5% of those surveyed thinking they could score the trophy. But it was beaten out by ITV’s Beat the Chasers and Tenable, hosted by and Warwick Davis, respectively.

As for the show that’s voted the hardest? What else but Only Connect, hosted by Victoria Coren Mitchell? Only 2% of people thought they could win the notoriously difficult programme.

Even if you do manage to snag the trophy, you won’t win a cash prize on Only Connect, where the goal is to find connections between seemingly unrelated clues.

The survey found that a whopping 29% of those asked didn’t think they could win any TV quiz at all.
