ace piled into fans following Wednesday night’s dramatic Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park.
The Reds had been on course to extend their lead at the top of the table to nine points after goals from Alexis Mac Allister and helped turn the game on its head following Beto’s early opener.
But deep into added time in the final-ever Merseyside Derby at Goodison, there was still one last chapter to be written.
As the clock ticked over into the 98th minute, the ball fell to James Tarkowski inside the penalty area, with the Everton skipper hitting perhaps the sweetest strike of his career to equalise right at the death.
Pandemonium ensued inside Goodison, with some Everton fans even breaching the barriers at the side of the pitch to celebrate with the players.
But according to midfielder Elliott, the noise was only being brought by the travelling away fans.
Speaking after the match to in the mixed zone, the 21-year-old was asked if he could “feel the roar” from the Everton fans after Tarkowski’s equaliser.
The Englishman replied: “Not really… yeah [from] the fans.”

Elliott wasn’t the only star to take aim at the Goodison faithful, with .
When asked by TNT Sports about the post-match scenes, the captain responded: “We saw how they celebrated the goal, they have every right to.
“But in the end I think [Abdoulaye] Doucoure wanted to provoke our fans and Curtis [Jones] didn’t think that was the right thing to do.”
Van Dijk was referencing a post-match flash point where Doucoure provoked Jones by celebrating in front of the away fans.
A melee ensued, with the police having to get involved and a bottle from the crowd thrown onto the pitch.

Jones and Doucoure were both shown second yellow cards for their role in the scuffle, with boss also sent off by referee Michael Oliver.
Van Dijk added: “Then obviously you know what happens when there’s a little tussle.
“But I think the ref didn’t have the game under control, in my opinion. I said it to him. I don’t know what it is, but it is a fact.
“Both teams had to deal with it. It is what it is. Like I said, take the point and move on.”
After the dust has settled, will look back on the result as a crucial two points dropped in their pursuit of a 20th English league title.
The championship hopefuls return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon when they welcome Wolves to Anfield.
