Mystery surrounds the death of a young woman found dead at the bottom of cliffs at a UK holiday hotspot.
The body of a woman, in her 20s, was discovered at the base of Porthtowan cliffs in Cornwall on Saturday afternoon.
Onlookers spotted the body and alerted authorities just before 3pm.
Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Officers were called at 2.55pm on Saturday, February 8 following reports of a body being located at the bottom of cliffs in Porthtowan.
“The ambulance service and Coastguard were both also called.”

The body was then recovered to the beach by lifeboat, police said.
The statement added: “The body is believed to be that of a woman in her 20s from the Truro area.
“Formal identification has yet to take place.
“The death is being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious.
“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
Anybody who witnessed a female at the cliffs in Porthtowan between the afternoon of Friday February 7 and the afternoon of the following day is being asked to contact police on 101 or via the force’s website quoting 50250033859.”
The woman in question was white, appearing to be in her late teens or early 20s, of slim build, with dark hair and wearing black shoes, black trousers, a black top and a lightweight black coat.
She was carrying a red handbag.
