I’ve forever been a massive fan of Korean- and Japanese-made skin care for the fact that the products are almost always effective and high-quality, yet incredibly well-priced. One of my longtime favorite Japanese brands is Hada Labo, an Osaka-founded company. The brand is responsible for an overnight treatment cream that promises some pretty convincing “anti-aging” abilities with a unique gel texture suited for various skin types — and it’s available for just $22 on Amazon.

The Overnight Treatment cream aims to improve the look of aging skin by addressing hydration loss, repairing damage and boosting skin firmness using known-to-perform ingredients featured in higher concentrations typically reserved for more potent serums.
This beloved cream contains a soy-powered peptide complex along with collagen, an ingredient combination that aims to target fine lines, skin sagging and stubborn crepey texture. One 65-year-old reviewer claimed that using this moisturizer has made their skin “look decidedly younger” and has won them compliments about its youthful appearance. Board-certified dermatologists have previously told HuffPost that some topically applied peptides, which are amino acids that provide structure to skin, can boost collagen and elastin production leading to plumper and firmer skin that bounces back.
The Overnight Treatment cream contains different types of hyaluronic acids, each of different molecular weights so it can reach different layers of the skin for better hydration. It’s the same proprietary ingredient blend that’s in my absolute favorite hyaluronic acid serum. The addition of Japanese honeysuckle also soothes and calms troubled complexions
Another component of this moisturizer that makes it particularly unique (and reviewer-loved) is its cushiony texture that’s part gel, part cream, incredibly lightweight and never greasy. Shoppers have said it’s a consistency that instantly smooths and softens skin, and is compatible with oil-prone skin types.

Promising Amazon reviews:
“I have used a whole container of this after my dermatologist recommended it, and I have loved it! It has made my skin so soft and really isn’t heavy. I was worried it would feel super heavy after I applied it, but no it soaks in and somehow makes my skin smoother just by using it. Definitely needed in those colder months. But I have oily skin and doesn’t make my skin feel oily or heavy.” — Beth McInerny
“I’ve been using this serum for several years now, mostly in the summer. (In winter, I need a heavier cream to protect against the cold and wind). My skin feels smooth and soft all summer long. If I don’t use it one day, I notice the difference. I am almost 66, and my skin looks decidedly younger. The most frequent compliment I get is that my skin looks young and smooth. So I highly recommend Hada Labo products, particularly this one.” — Etta Ezekiel
“This is really effective on dry skin without feeling greasy. The hydrating results are almost instant. Been using it for a week now and my face is getting more glow and pump up.” — Michie
“Anything I’ve tried from this brand is amazing. Plumps, moisturizes, can be used under makeup, makes your skin glow. I use it every night and can see results. My skin is plumper, scars are less visible, skin maintains moisture longer. Buy it” — Kristine
“This product works! I use a couple of this company’s products and I like them. I believe they work; however they are not going to completely disappear my bigger wrinkles around my lips; but they have decreased them in size. And for me that is a plus. This product is quality and if you check the ingredients, they are worthwhile.” — Monkeyjewelry
