After defeating the Kansas City Chiefs in dominating fashion in Super Bowl 2025, the Philadelphia Eagles and their fans are ready to decorate the streets of their city with green confetti.
On Sunday, Feb. 9, the Eagles dethroned the Chiefs, the reigning champs for the past two seasons, in a 40-22 victory. Eagles fans sporting their green gear — including celebrities like Bradley Cooper, Anne Hathaway and Kevin Hart — cheered as quarterback Jalen Hurts led his team to an impressive win. Hurts, who was later named Super Bowl 2025 MVP, superstar running back Saquon Barkley and the rest of the squad proudly hoisted the Vince Lombardi Trophy as a stream of green confetti descended from the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
Now, the celebration continues as the team and coach Nick Sirianni take the trophy back to the city of Philadelphia to properly celebrate the second Super Bowl win in Eagles history.
The Eagles and the city of Philadelphia have announced details for their championship parade. Read on to learn about the ceremony and what the city has shared about the event.
When is the Eagles’ Super Bowl 2025 parade?
A few hours after the game ended, the Eagles revealed to their fans the date of their Super Bowl 2025 parade.
The team’s official X account uploaded a video featuring Philadelphia’s famous Broad Street that confirmed the parade will be held on Friday, Feb. 14, Valentine’s Day.
“At 13 miles, Broad Street is Philadelphia’s longest straightaway,” a voice-over informed. “It runs north to south, right through the heart of the city. And it just so happens to wind up down by Lincoln Financial Field. It may only be 100 feet wide, but we’ll find a way to make room for everyone.”
As the clip ended, the Vince Lombardi Trophy appeared and the thunderous roar of Philly fans could be heard in the background.
“Thought it was time to bring this one out again. See ya Friday,” the caption said.
The official city of Philadelphia X account also tweeted, “The City can confirm the Eagles celebration will be on Friday, February 14. Together, with the @Eagles, we will reveal more details soon.”
What has the team said about the parade?
Following the Eagles’ win, team president Don Smolenski appeared on 94WIP sports radio to chat about the parade.
Smolenski explained that the date was chosen as the city prepares for snowfall later this week.
“Just watching the weather and we’ve got some snow coming this week, so we want to be respectful for the city to do what they need to do,” he said, according to The Associated Press. “And one extra day of planning doesn’t hurt.”
