Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon has received a huge update for its upcoming third season. Show stars Matt Smith and Fabien Frankel have revealed the cast and crew began filming for the third instalment last month.
Not only that, but the pair also revealed at MegaCon in Orlando, Florida that they’ve just received the scripts for the fourth, fifth and sixth episodes ahead of filming for those. It has already been announced that the show has been renewed for a fourth and final season which will wrap The Dance with Dragons storyline that haunts the House Targaryen bloodline for generations to come.
Despite the exciting announcement, fans don’t appear to be too happy as they flocked to to share their reactions, particularly about the wait time between seasons.
Season two finished airing this year in June and with filming only just beginning for season three, it looks like fans are in for a long wait, especially since the show takes a long time to film and it is also VFX heavy which is sorted in the post-production.
One unhappy user expressed: “I miss when tv shows filmed on a normal schedule and we received new seasons every year (and more than 6-8 episodes).” Another person commented: “I’m struggling to give a s**t about shows these days when we have to wait multiple years between 8-episode seasons.”

Somebody responded: “Amen. It was one thing with GOT which aired fairly consistently throughout its run. Waiting two years for these big shows is a drag.”
Yet another said: “Don’t care anymore. You can’t give us 8 episodes every 2 years with no finale and expect viewers to wanna keep watching. Ended up just googling what happens.”
A fifth unamused fan penned: “I’m gonna watch it but my hype dropped to zero to be honest.”
While a sixth added: “Can’t wait for these 4 episodes, then to wait 2 years again….”
