Helen George returns as Trixie Aylward (Image: BBC)
Call the Midwife has returned to BBC One, and in the midst of a refuse collector strike, an enormous mound of rubbish begins to accumulate near Nonnatus House. The unsanitary conditions start to draw rats, leading to an outbreak of Weil’s disease.
Concurrently, a woman who has just given birth to her third child develops an aversion to Joyce Highland, refusing her assistance with postnatal health complications. Helen George will once again grace our screens as Trixie Aylward in the forthcoming episode, along with many familiar faces.
Zephryn Taitte reprises her role as Cyril Robinson, grappling with the fallout of his relationship with Lucille (Leonie Elliott).
