Sometimes, having the most basic of ingredients can truly lead to a magical result – and that was the case with this

Taken from , the mushroom pasta is an everyday meal that is quick and easy to put together.

Ready in as little as 35 minutes, from start to finish, it’s another added to my favorite list for its simplicity and deliciousness.

The four main ingredients are: pasta, mushrooms, butter, and cheese – the rest are oil, herbs and seasoning.

This is one of those occasions where less is more, but the end result is a lovely meal you can make again and again.

Mushroom penne recipe

Serves: two people

Ingredients

Approximately 227g penne

Eight tbsp olive oil

Two garlic cloves, finely chopped

907g button mushrooms, sliced

Salt and black pepper

Two tbsp butter

One tbsp fresh parsley

Parmesan cheese

Method

Bring a large saucepan of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to packet instructions (typically eight to 10 minutes). Drain.

Meanwhile, heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Cook the mushrooms and garlic, season with salt and pepper, and mix in the butter.

In the drained pasta saucepan, add in the mushroom mixture with the penne, sprinkle with cheese, then garnish with fresh parsley to serve.

As with all pasta recipes, you can add in more ingredients if you wish, but this mushroom penne tastes great as it is.
