Rune cemented his status as one of the tour’s brightest prospects when he won the 2022 Paris Masters at 19. He stormed through the draw, becoming the first man to beat five top-10 players en route to a title outside of the ATP Finals.
The Dane was winning his quarter-final match against Alcaraz when the Spaniard had to retire. In the championship match, Rune downed Djokovic.
While the current world No. 14 is a little too young to have faced the likes of and , he has wins over most of today’s biggest stars.

Rune grew up playing alongside Alcaraz in the junior circuit. The pair have known each other since childhood and even teamed up on the doubles court at the prestigious Les Petits As juniors event in 2017.

Rune will be hoping to channel his perfect player at his upcoming tournaments after suffering a disappointing defeat at the Rotterdam Open.
The fifth seed suffered a one-sided defeat to world No. 44 Pedro Martinez in the second round, losing 6-4 6-1. Rune later took to social media to share he was fighting an illness.
“Tough night. Did my best but couldn’t fight my fever down. Hope to be fresh soon. Thank you Holland for your support,” he tweeted.
Rune will now head to Buenos Aires to kick off the Latin American swing. He will be the No. 2 seed at the ATP 250 event. He is also set to compete in the Rio Open and the Acapulco Open.
