Music legend Michael Bolton has been forced to cancel his highly anticipated London O2 show as he focuses on his recovery from surgery during his battle with brain cancer.
The 71-year-old star took to to make the annoucement in an emotional statement.
“Today we are announcing the cancellation of my July 5th concert at the O2 Arena in London. You all know how much I was looking forward to this show but I am continuing to heal from surgery.
“Thank you for all your love and positive energy over this past year. I am so grateful to have the most supportive fans in the world. Your tickets will be automatically refunded.”
Michael also posted an image of the poster for the event with the word CANCELLED emblazoned accross it in red writing. He was due to be joined by Bonnie Tyler for the show, in whic he was set to treat the audience to his greatest hits live.
In Janaury 2024 Michael revealed .
At the time he said he was “working hard to accelerate” his recovery but his brain tumour diagnosis and subsequent surgery meant he was taking time off touring.
Writing on , he said: “Just before the holidays, it was discovered that I had a brain tumour, which required immediate surgery.
“Thanks to my incredible medical team, the surgery was a success. I am now recuperating at home and surrounded by the tremendous love and support of my family.”
The London show was originally supposed to take place on July 25 2024 but had been rescheduled to July 5 this year in light of his health issues.
