viewers were left disgruntled as they noticed a key feature of the show had seemingly been “axed”.
Presenters and returned on Saturday, February 8, to deliver the latest news, from a march against knife crime following the tragic death of teenager Harvey Willgoose, to Trump’s thwarted attempt to put thousands of USAid workers on temporary leave.
While Breakfast is known for its iconic setting with the big red sofa at its centre, another crucial element is the red clock in the bottom right-hand corner.
However, when fans tuned in at 6am, the clock was conspicuously absent and didn’t appear for the first hour and 15 minutes of the show.
This oversight didn’t go unnoticed by viewers who quickly took to X, formerly Twitter, to highlight its absence.

“Apprentice Pete must be on graphics today.. No clock…”, one viewer noted.
Another commented: “No clock on #BBCbreakfast today but we did have some #election results pop up for a moment.”
A third quipped: “I don’t know ….they axed click ,now they have axed the clock …what’s next the sofa”, while another asked: “Where’s the …”, followed by an alarm clock emoji.
Fortunately, it wasn’t long before the clock reappeared on screen, with one fan remarking: “They’ve remembered to put the clock back on.”
Another added: “First Charlie and now Naga telling us the time! Welcome back [alarm clock emoji]”.
BBC Breakfast had another blunder this week when the cameras remained on the presenters greeting their guests when a VT should have been shown. (Image: BBC)
A technical blunder on Breakfast just days after a previous incident caused quite a stir.
While discussing how children handle grief, mentioned: “The Prince of Wales has opened up to teenagers battling bereavement about the painful experience of his mother, the late Princess Diana, dying when he was just 15 years old.”
However, as a voiceover started to explain the efforts of a charity, viewers were left watching Charlie and greeting their guests, completely unaware they were still on air.
The error was swiftly addressed, but eagle-eyed viewers didn’t miss the gaffe.
One viewer remarked: “Someone pressed the wrong buttons and it ended up being pretty wholesome view behind the scenes.”
Another quipped: “Oops camera fail”, while another humorously asked if “Apprentice Pete” was handling the cameras that day.
Breakfast continues every day at 6am on One and iPlayer.
