Watch Josh Allen’s tearful reaction to video of hospital patients congratulating him on his MVP win

Newly named NFL’s Most Valuable Player, Josh Allen was honored with one of the league’s highest awards, but it was a heartfelt tribute from the faces of patients familiar to him at Oishei Children’s Hospital that overwhelmed him with emotion.

In a new clip shared by the Buffalo Bills on X, the quarterback sits down to watch a video featuring children from the hospital, many of whom he’d visited while receiving treatment and who sent him messages of congratulations and gratitude.

“Dear Josh Allen, you’re pretty cool. And if you don’t win the MVP, then the NFL will be getting a strongly worded email from me,” joked Maeve Garvey.

“Remember me?” another, who Allen recognized as a girl named Hannah says. “I gave you my bracelet two years ago, and you wore it the whole season.”

Another, who designed Allen’s cleats back in 2023, also spoke about the impact of the footballer on his own life.

“I was at Oishei Children’s Hospital on the 10th floor, the Patricia Allen Wing, and every night I would see your picture on the wall. I’d always say, ‘What if I met Josh Allen?’”

“You are more than just our quarterback for the Buffalo Bills,” says another. “You are a symbol of hope and determination for all of us kids who have gone down the halls of the Patricia Allen Wing.”

The video ended with the children telling Allen, “Congratulations, MVP! Josh MVP! Congratulations on winning MVP!”

At the end of the clip, Allen returned the praise to the hospital’s young patients and parents.

“My job is not that hard. I play football,” Allen said, visibly moved to tears. “What you guys have to go through and continue to fight through is much harder than what I do. And I look up to you as much as you look up to me, and I really appreciate that. Love you guys. I didn’t want to cry tonight.”
