Asda announces the first ever supermarket-themed roller disco
Fitness enthusiast and ASDA ambassador, Joe Wicks, took on a ‘big shop’ with a twist on roller skates at the world’s first supermarket-themed roller disco.
The Body Coach was seen unveiling the transformation of Margate’s Dreamland roller room into an Asda supermarket, complete with aisles and shelves brimming with boxes representing discounted products.
Don’t miss…
Wicks was seen performing pirouettes with a shopping basket in hand, browsing through the chilled and cupboard sections of the makeshift supermarket.
In a Supermarket Sweep-style event, the roller room will welcome participants on 7th and 8th February. They’ll have the chance to skate around the expansive rink, scooping up groceries against the clock to win prizes.
Each 45-minute session will equip skaters with wheels, a basket, and a shopping list, challenging them to grab the bargains.
Those who manage to collect everything on their list could win hundreds of pounds worth of vouchers, with some lucky winners bagging spot prizes worth up to £50.
Asda is celebrating the return of its Rollback savings
The unique event was orchestrated by Asda to mark the return of its Rollback proposition, which slashes the prices of over 4,000 family-favourite products by an average discount of 25 per cent both in-store and online.
Joe Wicks expressed his excitement about the event, saying: “I’m so excited to don a pair of skates and take to the rink at Dreamland this weekend.
“As a father of four, supporting families to be able to access and cook low-cost, simple meals is hugely important to me.
“I’m looking forward to helping people discover the fab product offers and provide some inspiration to help turn deals into dishes.”
