SWAN?: Local whirlwind Lauren Brady stars in this raunchy parody of Swan Lake swirling around ballet, clowning and song.

Half-swan, half-ballerina, all chain-smoking Odette is desperately on the hunt for one true love — perhaps even from you in the audience?

“My goal,” explains the award-winning Brady, “is to present Odette in a highly comedic manner that allows the audience to laugh, reflect and walk away knowing they don’t need to be loved by a romantic partner to feel complete.”

Critically acclaimed around the world but especially Scotland, this was a 2024 Fringe holdover not to be missed.

Age rating is 16+ with swearing and sexual content.

The Black Opry: Nicely timed to complement Beyoncé winning her Best Country Album Grammy, this show explores the long-scholarly-understood, often-underplayed Black contribution to the very inception of country music, showcasing current riveting performers including Texas-born, Nashville-based country artist Tylar Bryant, Toronto-based singer-songwriter Shelley Hamilton, Boston-based indie folk singer-songwriter Grace Givertz and Virginia-based country singer-songwriter Jett Holden.

Sweet Treats and Latte Festival: A sugary and caffeinated (plus other options) version of the wildly successful Wyrdstock weird beer scavenger hunt, 30 local sweet spots are presenting their best with their own feature, aiming-to-be-delicious drink.

A nice way to lean not just into Canadian but deeply local, specialized confections include lattes, ice cream, doughnuts, bubble tea, hot chocolates and more, with 17 new participants, nine of which opened in the past year.

In other words, a chance to get to know some new friends!
