Coronation Street star admits what you didn’t see in key scene following show exit

Former star Harry Lowbridge has revealed a behind the scenes secret just days after his final scenes aired on the soap.

Harry departed his role as Logan Radcliffe on Monday night’s (February 3) episode and his dramatic final moments saw his character attack David Platt (Jack P Shepherd), who had recorded him confessing to starting the recent fire which destroyed the Platt house, before he was arrested.

Speaking exclusively to the 26-year-old-actor reflected on his time on the show and revealed his show entrance had far more behind the scenes drama than what viewers saw on screen.

His character arrived on the cobbles in a flash yellow sports car to accost his younger brother Mason (played by Luca Toolan) but Harry confessed he can’t drive which created a dilemma.

“The first day itself (on set), I was just kind of in awe, and it was the most embarrassing day as well, because the first scene I had to film was with me and Luca who played Mason.

“I was driving past him in this big yellow car, but I don’t have a driving licence. They (producers) didn’t know”

“The scene was me driving past Luca and having to look at him menacingly. But just off camera, there was six blokes pushing the car from behind,” he laughed.

Harry admitted even aside from the driving licence he didn’t have much time to prepare for the role as his casting was only confirmed days before he began shooting.

“I didn’t think I got it (the role) to be honest. It was actually a few days until it started filming, so I kind of just forgot about it. I hadn’t been asked to record a tape or anything. I’d just done one audition.

“And then my agent just called me and said, ‘you’ve got it’. That was it went on from there,” he said.

It was known from the off that his character was a nasty piece of work as he had been referred to on screen before he was seen but Harry wasn’t worried about playing a villain and potential hatred from fans of the show.

“I think either way, whether the villains loved or hated, if they hate, you feel like you’ve done a good job. Because that’s kind of the aim of the role, I guess.

There are certain people that potentially, sometimes do struggle to separate the two (actor and character). But I guess I wasn’t really worried.

“Everyone says, ‘Oh, you’re not nothing like the character’. It’s a role. I wasn’t worried. I think I was too excited and too ready to go for it,” he said.
