hosts Kevin O’Sullivan and Petrie Hosken clashed on Thursday night when the latter claimed has “broken” and said the social media platform is “losing advertisers by the fist”.

O’Sullivan hit back sarcastically on his The Political Show: “What, X? The primary carrier of news in the world.”

Hosken retaliated: “The primary carrier of what ‘news’ in the world? News disinformation. He has broken Twitter.”

O’Sullivan disagreed, claiming: “It is the premier social media site. He hasn’t broken it. That’s a liberal delusion.”

An infuriated Hosken argued: “No it is not! What kinds of news is on there? Unfounded, unchecked, delusional news.”

With this, O’Sullivan cut the conversation with a jab at Hosken’s 10pm show, saying: “Right, stick with Petrie for her left-wing show.”

Following the clash Kevin O’Sullivan told the Express: “I love and respect Petrie, but it’s fair to say that politically we’re not on the same side of the fence.

“I’m a great admirer of , and the notion that he has destroyed Twitter is a liberal delusion. It remains the world’s premier social media platform.”

According to reports last year, more than a quarter of advertisers are planning to cut spending on X over concerns about misinformation on the platform.

According to The Guardian, X’s advertising revenue has been in decline since Musk bought the site for £38 billion in October 2022. The move sparked backlash among advertisers due to Musk’s controversial posts and claims it had not lived up to its promises to be a platform for “free speech”.

Last month, Safeguarding Minister Jess Phillips said “disinformation” spread by was “endangering” her. of being a “rape genocide apologist” following Labour’s decision to decline a Whitehall-led inquiry into child sexual abuse in Oldham.

O’Sullivan and Hosken’s clash was shared on Talk TV’s Twitter page and sparked a mixed reaction from viewers.

One said: “Go on Kev. That lot left Twitter cos Sleepy Joe lost. Twitter isn’t broken. there are still loads of followers.”

Another wrote: “X is better than ever. We get to hear more opinions and debates. But, the left hates debate and opinions they don’t agree with.”

A third agreed: “What does she mean by ‘broken’? If she means, Leftists can’t control the narrative and de-platform whoever they like anymore, then technically she is correct.”

On the other hand, one user shared a message of support for the broadcaster, saying, “I’m with you, Petrie x.”

And a fourth penned: “This aside, I like Petrie. She’s down the middle, and she hates everyone in equal measure.”
