The station expressed thoughts and heartfelt condolences to Manzano’s family and those close to him.

The 27-year-old’s death comes less than a year after the death of his wife, Ashleigh Boyd, who was involved in a car accident on April 11, 2024, in Topeka, Kansas. According to an obituary for Boyd, she and Manzano shared a daughter, who was 15 months old at the time of Boyd’s death.

In the comments section of the post sharing the news of Manzano’s death, Facebook users reflected on his impact on the station’s Latino audience.

“A great loss for the Latino community and the sport, my deepest condolences to all his family and the family of Telemundo Kansas City,” one user replied.

“My God, what a loss for the sports and journalism community,” another replied. “Young promise great human being.”

Kansas City mayor Quinton Lucas said on X shortly after Manzano’s death was announced that he was “so young and fully of energy, and truly covered almost every event in the community.”

“So very sad to see this,” Lucas continued. “My condolences to his family and friends.”
