BBC viewers were furious after learning a huge TV show has been temporarily pulled off air. Due to a major schedule shake-up on the channel, will not be shown on Saturday night.
The second series of the hit programme kicked off last month and usually airs at 5:50pm, however, it has been replaced by the FA Cup this weekend.
Fourth-round action of the competition will see third-tier team Birmingham City attempt to knock out high-flyers Newcastle United. will present the coverage live from St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park.
The sudden change in schedule has left fans far from impressed as they took to social media to share their frustrations.
One viewer fumed: “No #Gladiators next week for football, f***ing rugby on as well. Saturday’s best night for tv and you’ve got sport ruining it.”

A second agreed: “No Gladiators on One this Saturday? Instead it is pointless FA Cup. Not impressed, not everyone wants to watch football on a Saturday night.”
A third furious fan added: “Oh goodie. No #Gladiators next week cos of f***ing football.”
The reboot of Gladiators first hit screens in early 2024 and is co-hosted by father-son duo Bradley and Barney Walsh. The original series, which ran from 1992 until 2000, was fronted by John Fashanu and Ulrika Jonsson.
The revamped programme follows the same premise as the original series and has been a hit with viewers, with a third series already commissioned.
The series features members of the public who take on super-humans in a series of gruelling events. The challenges test the competitors speed, strength, stamina and skill.

At the end of each episode, the contenders go head to head on a huge assault course called the Eliminator.
Despite the new series having ramped up the safety measures, both contenders and in this series and those prior.

Nikki was facing off against Dynamite in the evening’s fourth event when they took a tumble to the safety net below. Concerns arose immediately as Dynamite attended to her competitor.
Later in the show, Bradley announced: “She’s been checked over by our brilliant medical team but unfortunately she will not be able to compete in the Eliminator.”
