Meghan reached out to singer Billie Eilish
made a “strategic move” by reaching out to singer Billie Eilish for a young fan who lost her merchandise in the LA wildfires, according to a PR expert.
The 43-year-old posted a reel to her account earlier this week where she explained how the 23-year-old US hitmaker sent signed items to her for a 15-year-old girl whose home had burned down.
The Duchess of Sussex, who lives in California, revealed that she met the teenager’s mum whilst visiting a community affected by the devastating LA wildfires.
Estelle Keeber, who is the founder of London-based PR agency Immortal Monkey, said that the video portrays Meghan as being “relatable”.
She said: “By directing her message at Billie Eilish, referencing feeling old, and opting for a makeup-free look, Meghan is leaning into relatability – something that has become a key engagement driver on platforms like and .”

Explaining further, she added: “It is quite pleasant seeing her in this informal setting.”
Also praising Meghan, branding and PR expert Hayley Knight said that the former working royal playing into a younger audience was a “very stylistic, intentional attempt”.
She added that the “candid [and] unedited look and feel” to the video, mirrored that of content creators on platforms like “where authenticity and spontaneity are rewarded”.
