The age of YouTube and streaming has muted the complaints of Canadians who are blocked from seeing those expensive Super Bowl ads during the big game.
But the fact remains: A 2019 CRTC decision means the commercials we see north of the border — the Kansas City Chiefs-Philadelphia Eagles game on Sunday in New Orleans will be broadcast in Canada on CTV and TSN — are from Canadian advertisers, whose own big investments are meant to be protected by the ruling.
It does take some of the zing out of the game-day experience, though, given that dozens of the biggest U.S. companies are willing to spend millions for a spot — and the results are often legendary.
Some ads won’t be available until Sunday, but a lot of are dropping early or have teasers online. Here’s what’s on tap for Super Bowl Sunday in 2025:
Little Caesars
