Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.) wasn’t afraid to mock fellow Republican Rep. Nancy Mace (S.C.) after her transphobic crusade intensified recently. (Watch the video below.)
While introducing Rep. Blake Moore (R-Utah) at the Washington Press Club Foundation Congressional Dinner on Wednesday, Lawler took a detour.
“Who knows, Blake could be a future speaker of the House,” Lawler said. “It all depends on how Nancy Mace and the Freedom Caucus are feeling on any given day.”
And then the dagger: “Nancy Mace has gone so far off the deep end lately that she makes Marjorie Taylor Greene look like Susan Collins.”
Mace repeatedly used a trans slur at a House hearing on Wednesday. When she was reprimanded for it, Mace then acted like a bratty child and replied, “tranny, tranny, tranny.”
Last month Mace joined Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) to inspect a Capitol bathroom after Boebert said a person she reportedly thought to be transgender Rep. Sarah McBride (D-Del.) was inside. But the sighting was false.

Mace has pushed to stop transgender women from using the women’s bathroom ― and one of her bills applied specifically to the Capitol to target McBride.
